For the after-Turkey crowd, we had our normal schedule of Friday classes. The morning group did a classic CrossFit.com workout with a lot of CORE. The afternoon group did a Thanksgiving partner chipper that Lindy came up with. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend and can't wait to see you next week!
Here's a picture of my food, and some food for thought. Why not try a family pizza night? The kids get to take part in making their dinner, and you can be picky about the ingredients you use. It's a lot of fun and the food tastes better when prepared with love! These were homemade gluten-free pizzas with a variety of toppings. One is salmon, basil, sun-dried tomatoes; another is lamb, artichoke, pepperoncini; and we did two with homemade beef sausage and basil, one with peppers and one without.
Also, here are your workout photos for the week.
You may have noticed that the chalkboard was wiped clean. That's to make room for new names, new workouts, new goals, and new PRs! In the meantime, here are the old stats for your record-keeping.
Here's Lindy with her new 4:30pm Friday CrossFit class. I've been here at CrossFit RHC for a long time and I am very happy to see a new instructor come on board with so much enthusiasm and start with a great group like this. Come check out this class if you haven't yet!
There was no class on Monday and I'm sorry for that. This cold that's been going around is a brutal one and I didn't want to give it to all of you. The planned workout was a great one, also known as "Tabata This", so give it a shot when you have a chance.
We made up for missing Monday with powerful workouts through the rest of the week. These are the old-school CrossFit workouts from the Greg Glassman days, and they are potent.
Friday was the first class for Lindy Mullen Doyle, our new CrossFit instructor. She is offering a 4:30pm class on Fridays and will soon add more afternoon options throughout the week. This is a great one for all those night people who can't make it in during the morning, but also an option for our morning people to do a make-up class. If you haven't met Lindy yet, come check out one of her classes. She's great!
This was a fun week. It seems like I've had a lot of people asking for swim days lately, but then they aren't the same people who show up on the swim days! Or, at least they show up without their swimsuits. This happened on Wednesday, so the folks who showed up that day ended up rowing instead. With Friday being another rowing workout, I gave those folks the option of doing Wednesday's swim workout instead, and we had 4 takers. Not a great story, I know, but yeah, swim workouts are here.
