The 2016 CrossFit Games Regionals is going on RIGHT NOW all over the world, with our own West Regional happening in Portland, Oregon this weekend. You can keep up with all the results here, and even watch live via YouTube on the CrossFit channel.
Something else I'd like to touch on today is the concept of progressions. This is the idea that skills advance in stages: first you crawl, then you walk, then you run. Chest-to-bar pull-ups and strict deficit handstand push-ups are both quite difficult gymnastic skills. In a workout like this, some people might need to go to an earlier stage in the pull-up progression, such as regular chin-over-bar pull-ups or box-assisted pull-ups. Others might need to go to an earlier stage in the handstand push-up progression, such as kipping handstand push-ups, handstand push-ups with knees on a box, or simply an overhead press with dumbbells or kettlebells. You can see some of these alternatives in the pictures from today's 4:30pm class.
