I saw two questions burning behind your eyes on Tuesday:
1) Why are we practicing muscle-ups if we can't even do pull-ups yet?
2) Why are we doing so many named WODs?
The first answer is simple: I want everyone to have the muscle-up goal in their mind as something they can achieve WITHIN THE YEAR. We'll be revisiting this skill frequently as we also build up your pull-ups and dips. The muscle-up is a great measure of strength and body control, but it's also a very handy skill to have when scaling walls, rock-climbing, climbing out of the water onto a boat, or just getting yourself into bed after a heavy deadlift day leaves you rubber-legged.
The second answer is simpler: these are benchmarks. Benchmarks are a measure of ability using a test that is easily observed and repeatable. We will come back to these benchmark WODs eventually and you'll have a way to verify the progress you've made.

Our CrossFit instructors can conduct personal training in the X-Studio just like any of our other Personal Trainers, but they are qualified specifically to help out with CrossFit skills, such as:
-Improving weightlifting technique (Clean, Jerk, Snatch, Squat, Deadlift, Press)
-Developing gymnastic progressions (such as muscle-ups & handstand push-ups)
-Improving WOD scores & times
Prices are the same as Personal Training, starting at $65/hr, with lower hourly prices when purchased in larger packages or as monthly recurring services, conveniently auto-billed to their club account.
