Riverside - Group Fitness

ALL GROUP FITNESS CLASSES ARE INCLUDED IN YOUR MEMBERSHIP!

         At Riverside Health Club, we want nothing more than for our members to move toward their goals.  We know that when working out with a buddy, your chances of succeeding improve exponentially.  That’s why we have provided our members with more than 70 group fitness classes a week included in their membership.

 *Riverside Health Club Class Cancellation Policy.  Please note that it is necessary to maintain a minimum of 10 participants for classes to continue.  Classes that consistently have less than 10 participants may be cancelled, with advance notice, at the discretion of the Head of the Department.  Zumba® and the Zumba Fitness logo are trademarks of ZUMBA Fitness, LLC, used under license.

Class Descriptions

Group Ride

Pedal in groups, roll over hills, chase the pack, climb mountains and spin your way to burning calories and strengthening your lower body.  This 60 minute cycling program is  geared toward anyone that can ride a bike.

Group Active

Group Active is perfect for the new or infrequent exerciser since the program design incorporates all elements of fitness in just 60 minutes. It will increase your cardio fitness, build your strength and improve your balance and flexibility.

Group Centergy

Grow longer and stronger as you explore this 60 minute journey of yoga and Pilates movements.  Positive uplifting music, group dynamics and supportive instructors will increase your cardio fitness, build your strength and improve your balance and flexibility.

Group Power

This 60 minute barbell program strengthens all your major muscles.  With simple, athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls, Group Power is for all ages and fitness levels.

Group Step

Utilizing the step in many positions and heights, this compelling 60 minute cardio program strengthens and shapes the lower body one step at a time.  Energetic music and motivating instructors create this spunky group exercise.

Group Core

Train like an athlete in 30 action-packed minutes. Gain a strong core, from your shoulders to your hips! Expert coaching and motivating music will guide you through functional and integrated exercises using your body weight, weight plates, a towel, and a platform - all to challenge you like never before. 

Cardio

All cardio classes are set to great music and utilize the step and floor to increase heart rate and achieve cardiovascular benefits. Participants can adjust their workout to fit their own intensity level based on individual needs.

Strength

Strength class involves cross-training principles, weight lifting, stretching with some basic yoga poses, light cardio and lifting.  Ab work is also done between lifting sets.  Best of all it’s fun and exciting with new moves all the time.

Yoga

Yoga classes are offered at varying levels, creating a workout that everyone will enjoy. Yoga is designed to balance the body and mind with a series of stretches and poses to help enhance overall strength and flexibility.

Pilates

Pilates targets muscles that support core strength and good posture.  These exercises include muscles of the abdominal area, back, shoulders and pelvic floor.  The focus of Pilates training is to develop a strong and flexible body that moves with ease and grace.

Zumba® Fitness

Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away.

Zumba® Gold

ZUMBA Gold takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.
