  Michael Popp joined the Riverside Health Club team in May of 2003 as a Personal Trainer. Michael has made a life long commitment to fitness both for himself and helping others.Michael’s years of participation in a health club setting evolved into a desire to train people professionally, which led to him getting certified through the American Council of Exercise. Michael comes to Riverside Health Club with a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Biology.

Michael has trained all levels of clients including specific sports training and believes in making workouts fun and diverse as well as productive.Michael’s dedication to keeping himself fit allows him to further enjoy activities he loves such as hiking, fishing and surfing.

  Heather has been working at Riverside Health Club since June of 2004. She has her bachelors degree from Dordt College in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. She has three years experience in training, coaching and conditioning athletes to help meet their goals.She takes pride in creating individualized workouts that are challenging, fun and effective. Heather believes each personalized session is an important stepping stone for her clients to achieve their goals. Her motto is “good, better, best, never let it rest, until your good is better and your better is best!”

Heather enjoys hiking, water sports and snowboarding as well as spending time with her husband and 1 year old daughter.

  Daniel joined the Riverside Health Club team in 2004. We are excited to provide you with his knowledge of fitness and nutrition. Daniel graduated from Texas Tech with a B.S. in Food and Nutrition. He has been counseling in nutrition since 2002. He also is an ACE certified personal trainer and has been personal training since 2000.Daniel enjoys working with people one-on-one to help them attain their personal fitness and diet goals. He tries to make his programs interesting and fun for his clients so they can enjoy what they are doing.

Mountain biking, kayaking, and snowboarding are some of his favorite pastimes. He usually looks for any excuse to be outside.

  Colette is a certified Personal Trainer through World Instructors Training Schools (WITS). Personal fitness has been a life long passion of Colette’s.  She has been a member of RHC since 1988. Colette has a special interest in helping members with Lifestyle and Weight Management as well as fitness goals.  She is a certified Body Bugg Practitioner and also certified with BTS as a Group Active instructor.Energetic, fun, and focused, Colette is determined to see you reach your fitness goals.  Whether it is “getting started”, strength training, functional training, or breaking a plateau, Colette is prepared to guide, motivate and inspire you.Colette and her husband Scott enjoy road    biking and reading.  Colette also enjoys running, mountain biking and spending time with her two daughters.

Jennifer Beemer

  Jennifer has worked in the fitness industry for 20 years, beginning as a group fitness instructor in her third year of college at the University of Washington. Her experience here at Riverside Health Club began in 1995 as a group fitness instructor teaching step classes, and she has since taught everything from prenatal step classes to Senior Strength. Her focus for the last 10 years has been primarily water fitness.Jennifer is currently certified as a Personal Trainer through ACE, has also previously been certified through ACE as a Group Fitness Instructor, and through both the Aquatic Exercise Association and U.S. Water Fitness Association as a Water Fitness Instructor. In addition, she was certified through the American Institute of Fitness Educators as an Older Adult Trainer.

She is currently working on certification through BTS as an instructor for the Group Active class, with the intention of completing in February ’08. Her next challenge is to complete the ACE Clinical Exercise Specialist certification by the end of 2008.Jennifer’s passion is working with older adults, as well as those who are deconditioned or new to exercise. Her desire is to help others enjoy “better living through fitness.” Her personal philosophy: “If I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s day today, it’s been a successful day!”  

 

   Kim

  Kim Turner joined the Riverside Health team in October 2010.  Kim originally began her fitness career at age 16 teaching her first step class and has returned to the starting point of her fitness career.A graduate of Mount Vernon High School, Kim went on to receive her bachelors of Science in Athletic Medicine from Washington State University. She also served as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Washington State University Women’s Rowing, Men’s Basketball and traveled with the football team as well. She then went on to the University of Idaho and received a Masters in Health and Fitness Education. Kim is also certified to teach K-12 Health and Fitness Education and currently works for the Conway School District as the Health and Fitness Specialist. Kim is certified in Group Power, Group Step and Group Kick. She is also certified in Zumba®, spinning, aqua personal training and loves to teach group fitness! Kim has a passion for fitness has an expertise in Athletic injuries and rehabilitation.Kim lives in Mount Vernon with her husband Daryl and two kids Michael and Kendal. Kim believes that you have to find what you love in fitness, and that is what will keep you going.

 

 
Andrew D

  Andrew has been a member at Riverside Health Club since 2007 and is now on staff as a personal trainer. Andrew received his TRX Suspension Training Certification in 2010 and his ACE Certification in 2011.  He serves on our elite team of Riverside Extreme (RX) trainers. Andrew puts his knowledge, skills, and experience to use in this results-oriented class. Andrew also offers one-on-one personal training on the TRX suspension system for those who prefer individual instruction.Andrew brings years of experience in personal fitness to the personal training department. A lifelong commitment to optimum personal fitness has allowed Andrew to enjoy a very active lifestyle that includes competitive sports, martial arts, triathlons, racing motocross, mountain biking, rock climbing and many other outdoor activities. 

 

 
 

Michael T
personal trainer

 Michael earned a degree in both Movement Studies (Kinesiology) and Health and Fitness Teaching from Washington State University. He is also TRX Suspension Training Certified. Michael has been physically active his whole life; participating in activities such as football, baseball, recreational motocross, hunting, and weight training. Outside of participating in these activities he is coach at a local high school for football and baseball. He enjoys working with student athletes on the field as well as in the gym. He has chosen this profession because he has a passion for teaching others about the body and improving lives through exercise and healthy habits. Michael is active in many areas of Riverside Health Club. He instructs Riverside Extreme, TRX Suspension Training, leads private and group personal training and teaches group fitness classes at Riverside Eastside.
