RHC Sedro-Woolley history
Riverside Health Club – Eastside opened its doors in May 2000. Sedro-Woolley is only 10 miles away from our Mount Vernon location, yet some of our members were traveling 20 minutes for their workout. We thought a satellite club could make fitness more convenient for our members to the “East.” We were not sure we were addressing a need in Sedro-Woolley, so we decided to test it out first. We rented a warehouse from Seven Sisters - the building just to the east of the Seven Sisters building across the street from our current building. The warehouse had no showers or locker rooms. It did, however, have big garage doors which we would roll up when we needed to get more air circulation going! We told our members – if we reach 500 members – we will move to a better, more permanent location. After just one year, we had already nearly reached that goal! Sedro-Woolley committed to us. It was time to commit to Sedro-Woolley. Our current building was just being built. In 2001 we signed a 10 year lease. We wanted to send a strong message of thanks and commitment to those who believed in us – we are not going anywhere! You believed in us – we are committing to you! Sedro Woolley continues to grow:

Common Questions about the remodel:
WE LOVE OUR MEMBERS! Even with all the construction going on, we've heard such positive feedback about how excited you are about the changes! We are working hard to get this done as quickly as possible while making sure we don't have to shut down. Because we're doing this all in the open, we've naturally gotten quite a few questions. Here are two we've gotten a few comment cards on: 1. Will we be knocking down the old PT room to allow room for the stretching equipment that got bumped out of the way to make room for the new PT room? Answer: YES! We offer 3 free coaching sessions for ALL of our members to get them set up for success. We have found the demand for these appointments is so high that we needed to make another small room. We will keep the old room up until the new rooms are done so that we can keep providing the services you need! The old room will come down this Summer. 2. What's happening with the women's gym? Answer: We sent out a survey asking if the women would prefer a larger women's locker room (absorbing the women's gym) or to keep the women's gym. We were surprised to see a 50/50 answer! AKA - YOU WANT BOTH! So, we're GIVING YOU BOTH! We've found a way to construct a new layout for the women's locker room that will provide TWICE the amount of lockers and we only have to scoot the wall into the women's gym a few feet. To make room for the adjustment in the women's gym, we are replacing the circuit equipment with a cable crossover machine that will achieve the same total body workout, but has a smaller footprint. Keep the comment cards rolling in, we want you to be as informed as possible! And for those of you who have written encouraging notes, thank you. You don't know how much those words mean to us :) |
