History Of Riverside Health Club
Riverside Health Club opened in 1971 in Mount Vernon before gyms really became popular in the 1980’s
MV originally had a Grecian Health Spa theme throughout
Free weight gym was the original footprint
In 1990, the lobby, women’s locker room, women’s gym, racquetball were added.
In 1995, the pool and upstairs were added.
In 2000, Sedro-Woolley site opened.
In 2000 Denise Skelton purchased the club and the building went from Cobalt Blue to Sepia tones.
Karen Westra joined the team in 2003, becoming a co-owner in 2004.
In 2017 Beth Baeslack and Theresa Butcher joined the ownership team.
Riverside Health Club is now co-owned equally by Denise, Karen, Beth, and Theresa.
In 2018 Riverside Health Club did a full overhaul of the logo and brand, including a building remodel and repainting of the outside.
In 2021 Sedro-Woolley went to a 24/7 model.
