A letter from our Licensed Massage Practitioner

Our Licensed Massage Practitioner, Rosanna, wrote our staff a letter about what she is offering here at the club. After reading it, we thought it would be something our members would love to read as well! Rosanna is doing some amazing work with our members and you can read more about why her technique is so effective in her letter below !

Hey Everyone!

I’d like to let you know a little bit more about what kind of massage I’m offering here at the club.

I have been practicing massage for 7 years this month. I graduated from Whatcom Community College’s Massage Program in August of 2009. The program focus was mainly in injury treatment and recovery massage. My continuing education has been primarily focused on deep tissue massage. I have also taken a 36-hour course in Craniosacral Therapy, which is a very light form of massage that targets the brain, spinal cord and the neural connections throughout the body.

In my massages I usually use a slow, deep pressure that allows the fascia to warm up and release adhesions and scar tissue, directly improving range of motion and muscle function. One of my specialties is identifying movement patterns that could be causing dysfunction, and suggesting simple ergonomic changes to daily activities that help reduce stress on the body.

As many of you know, the body is very connected and pain in one area usually is caused by a compensation pattern or dysfunction in another area. My favorite part of massage is finding out how to not only help the area that is restricted, but also to find out the other areas that are contributing to the problem.

Clients experience many changes from massage like:
  • Reduced Pain/Inflammation
  • Increased Range of Motion
  • Improved Sleep
  • Reduced Stress
  • Ability to set PR’s and move forward from plateaus in workouts
  • Improved Posture
  • Improved Circulation
  • Recovering from chronic injuries
It is very important to remind potential clients to stay well hydrated before and after massages as, dehydration can cause adhesions and increase soreness before and after massage. It is also completely normal to be sore for 1-2 days after a massage as the body processes the toxins and broken down adhesions/scar tissue from the treatment.

Massage Prices

Tuesday 9:30am-2pm
Wednesday 2pm-6:30pm
Chair Massage, by the minute = $1/minute
Table Massage, 30 min. = $45
Table Massage, 60 min. = $65
Table Massage, 90 min. = $95

All the massages at the club are clothed and in open areas of the gym. It is important to have clients wear loose comfortable clothing for their massage.
